Badal woos BJP to install son as CM

Sukhbir Singh Badal, son of Punjab [ Images ] Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is to being installed as the new CM of Punjab with the Shiromani Akali Dal's [ Images ] alliance partner, the Bharatiya Janata Party [ Images ] giving its consent.

With Sukhbir's election to the state assembly, the speculation had now gathered momentum with Parkash Singh Badal meeting senior BJP leaders leaders to seek their guidance and approval to make Sukhbir the CM. The Punjab unit of the BJP has reservations with this move.

The installation ceremony is expected during the week long Navratri [ Images ] celebrations.
