The stolen pilot vehicle of Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan was found abandoned in Rangpura area of New Delhi, police sources said on Tuesday.

The vehicle has been seized by police, they said. The SUV, which had a radio tag allowing its entry into Parliament, was stolen from R K Puram Sector-V residence of driver Niranjan Mohanty on Monday by an unidentified man who drove away with it despite the former giving a chase for some distance.

The vehicle had four to five stickers giving it access to prominent places. Sources in Khan's office had said that the SUV was being used as a pilot vehicle of the Deputy Chairman's vehicle cordon.

The driver has taken the Bolero to his residence on Sunday evening as he was relieved from duty very late.
