Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said on Wednesday that there has been no spurt in infiltration from across the border into Jammu and Kashmir. "There has been no spurt in infiltration though there have been good attempts at it," he said in reply to a question.

Security forces are in full control along the borders, the Home Minister said. On Jammu division, he said the security situation is satisfactory there, adding the number of militants being killed is very high while the losses suffered by civilians and security forces is very low.

There is a sound leadership of security forces in Jammu which has controlled the militancy, said the Home Minister who earlier reviewed the security situation at a high-level meeting in Jammu.

"I am satisfied that the leadership of security forces in Jammu division is quite capable to tackle the militancy," he said.

Asked whether the government plans to bring all intelligence agencies under one umbrella in JK, the Home Minister said there is already a unified command in the state and he is satisfied with its working.
