A three-seater chartered private aircraft skidded off the runway on landing at the IAF airdrome in Bihar's Darbhanga town on Monday as the pilot had a providential escape.
IAF station commander Raman Kumar Singh said the aircraft of a private airway, coming from Patna to take back two passangers, skidded into slushy ground as it touched base but the pilot Raj escaped unhurt.
While mal-function of braking system might be the cause, "a human error on the part of pilot at the time of landing can also not be ruled out", Singh said. An inquiry was on.
