TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, who ended his 11-day fast undertaken to press for Telangana state, was shifted out from ICU of the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad.

The 55-year-old leader was transferred to a separate ward in the same hospital, doctors said. Rao, later, spoke to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah over the phone and thanked him for taking a positive decision on the Telengana issue.

The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief broke his fast late last night by having a glass of juice from party ideologue.

Jayashankar as celebrations by TRS activists and other pro-Telangana supporters erupted on the streets of Hyderabad following the Centre's decision.

The Centre had conceded to the demand for a separate Telangana state for which the process will be initiated and an appropriate resolution will be moved in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.

The decision on Telangana was taken at a meeting which Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah after two rounds of consultations in the Congress Core Committee with Sonia Gandhi and senior cabinet colleagues.
