HP gears up for e-commerce in India

Email this story to a friend. Hewlett-Packard has announced a complete hardware, software, services and financing package to make systems more manageable and scaleable in the ''challenging world of e-commerce''.

Aimed at government departments, financial institutions, banks, retail supply chains and telecom companies, HP's new systems consolidation strategy would include financial solutions, consultancy skills, services and support needs, Stacy Plemmons, vice-president, Enterprise Accounts Organisation, HP India, has told reporters.

The company's new programme will help in cutting costs to a minimum of 10 per cent by achieving operational efficiency and maximising return on information technology investment, he added.

The HP 9000 hyperplex data-centre clusters will simplify the process of consolidating it environments and enable customers to take the first step in evolving their data centres to e-services centres, David Kelleher, worldwide solutions marketing manager, claimed.

The company said, in order to introduce a two-way interactive Internet chapter two, a series of announcements will be made in the next six to eight weeks on new software solutions, hardware, services and partnerships.
