Tata's Madras yellow pages to go online

Tata Donnelley, formerly Tata Press, has announced an upcoming Madras edition of its yellow pages on the Internet with a list of details of about 42,000 commercial establishments.

It is the electronic version of the same directory available in print and will not contain additional information, like hyperlinks to the companies named. But it will provide addresses, phone numbers and a list of products.

The Tata Yellow Pages is also available on a CD-ROM for Rs. 300.

The site the company gave, http://www.tpyp.com, was not available at the time of writing, though its site for exporters, (http://www.indianexporters.com) is already online. Tata Donnelley's home page is already available at http://www.tatadonnelley.com.

Tata Donnelly, with its headquarters in Bombay, is an equity partnership between Tata and R R Donnelley, each holding about 27.5 per cent stake in the company. The remaining lies with the public.
