Lost a noble person': Adhir on Rawat's death

Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Wednesday expressed condolences over the sudden demise of Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat in a chopper crash. 

Speaking to media persons, the Congress leaders said, "I am left with no words. I am very sad. Being the chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC), I had several meetings with General Bipin Rawat. Even four days back we had a telephonic conversation." 

 "The news of General Rawat demise put a shadow of grief. All the good conversation and his gracious behaviour are floating in my mind since I heard the news. We lost a noble person, the country's first CDS. May his soul rest in peace," added Chowdhury. 

 General Bipin Rawat, his wife, and 11 other personnel of the Armed Forces died after a military helicopter crashed in Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, the Indian Air Force said.
