BJP President Amit Shah arrives in Malda. He will address a rally in West Bengal today.

The BJP will kick-start its campaign in Bengal for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with a rally by Shah in Malda this afternoon. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had alleged that buses were being obstructed and people were being stopped from attending the BJP President's rally.

This comes a day after a row between the BJP and the state government over a landing spot for Shah's helicopter. The public meeting is being held three days after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's mega rally featured several Opposition leaders from across the country.

Shah will address two other rallies on Wednesday at Jhargram and Suri in Birbhum district. Shah has accused WB CM Mamata Banerjee of "ruining' the state with "politics of appeasement' and asserted his party is committed to restoring its pride.

The series of rallies were postponed from Sunday after Shah was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi due to swine flu.
