Alok Verma may get reinstatement letter by this evening
January 08, 2019  19:12
As the Supreme Court verdict reinstating Alok Verma as CBI director was being pronounced, BJP MPs in Central Hall of Parliament quietly slipped out, even as Congress MPs were very jubilant about the judicial drubbing to the government.

But once Finance Minister Arun Jaitley appeared on TV to clarify that the government will abide by the Supreme Court ruling which had certain provisions for the CVC and the CBI, the ruling party MPs were assuaged.

In other words Jaitley stated that based on the Supreme Court ruling, the  government will re-appoint Verma as CBI director.

Following this the government has initiated the process for the appointments committee of the Union Cabinet to reappoint Verma, and the secretary, department of  personnel, is expected to issue orders for the same by today evening.

Alok Verma also has to write a letter to the government that he is returning to office after his leave.

So all's well that ends well?
