Janata Dal-Secular's H D Kumaraswamy has said that his swearing-in as Karnataka chief minister will take place on Monday morning.

His comment came shortly after he met Governor Vajubhai Vala and staked claim to the government after BJP's B S Yeddyurappa quit on the floor of the Karnataka assembly before the trust vote.

The JD-S leader said that the governor has given 15 days to prove his majority.

Kumaraswamy said that senior leaders such as Sonia Gandhi, BSP's Mayawati, SP's Akhilesh Yadav have been invited for the event.

Asked about further details about the ministers and the plan for the future, the JD-S strong man said that they would be sitting down with Congress leaders tonight and mapping out future plans.
