BJP's Amit Malviya writes to Election Commission explaining his tweet

Following the controversy over Amit Malviya's tweet announcing the poll dates for Karnataka, the party's IT cell head has sent a letter to the Election Commission explaining his actions.

Here's the letter he sent to the polling body.

Earlier in the day, a storm erupted after the BJP's national Information and Technology cell head Amit Malviya when he tweeted about the dates of the Karnataka Assembly election before the Election Commission announced it through a press conference.

Even though Malviya seems to have deleted the tweet now, journalists questioned Malviya on how he got to know about the Karnataka poll dates before the Election Commission announced them.
