Rajput Karni Sena Chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi on Wednesday said that team Padmaavat cannot be allowed to earn profit by defaming Rajputs.

"We are adamant on our stand that this film Padmavaat should be banned; there should be a self imposed curfew by people. We cannot let them earn profits by defaming us," Kalvi said while addressing a press conference.

The Karni Sena also condemned the violence erupted against the release of the film.

Yesterday, Kalvi had urged people to impose curfew in cinema halls and stop screening of the movie Padmaavat.

Meanwhile,  protesters in Haryana torched a bus and pelted stones at Gurugram's Sohna Road in protest against Padmaavat.

In Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, a group of people stopped a train at Bhuteshwar railway station in protest against the release of the film.

The protestors also denounced the director of the movie Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Several incidents of violent protests are surfacing in different parts of the nation against the release of the movie.

In some states, including UP, Telangana, Gujarat and Haryana, the members of Karni Sena have resorted to burning posters and vandalising the ticket counter.  -- ANI
