The Supreme Court has transferred to itself two petitions from the Bombay high court relating to the alleged mysterious death of special CBI judge B H Loya, reports PTI.

The SC has asked all parties to catalogue documents in Loya's matter which have not been filed so far and submit them.

The apex court also asked lawyers not to cast aspersions on BJP president Amit Shah, who is not a party before it.

As of today, it was a natural death, do not cast aspersions, says the SC, which will examine documents on Feb 2.

The SC termed as "serious" the issues raised in the pleas; says, "we must look into all documents with utmost seriousness."

Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra was provoked into anger when a senior woman lawyer inferred that the SC was going to gag the media, and asked her to retract and apologise.

The court also restrained all high courts from entertaining any petition relating to Loya's death.
