Sridevis funeral procession has reached the cremation ground in Vile Parle. Reports say there has been a near-stampede outside the crematorium as crowds in their thousands surged to get a better glimpse of both Sridevi and celebrities arriving there.


Police lathicharged the crowd, the second time today, to control the crowd. Reports say people were perched on trees, lined rooftops and the skywalk for a look at Sridevis cortege. Her stepson Arjun Kapoor requested people with folded hands to let the funeral procession pass through.


Thousands walked along with the hearse all the way to crematorium, a distance of about 7km.


The family has given a list to the Mumbai police of VVIPs who can be allowed inside the crematorium. But the surging crowds has made it difficult for them to enter the crematorium.
