Actor Robert Vaughn dies aged 83

Actor Robert Vaughn has died at the age of 83 after a short battle with leukaemia.

The star, best known for his role as Napoleon Solo in The Man From U.N.C.L.E., died surrounded by his family, his manager said today.

The father-of-two is survived by wife Linda, son Cassidy and daughter Caitlin.

Vaughn's prolific small-screen career included stints on The A-Team, Murder She Wrote, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU and the British soap opera Coronation Street.
