Chopper carrying Ukand CM's wife makes emergency landing

A helicopter carrying Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat's wife, Renuka Rawat and state Congress chief Kishore Upadhyay today made an emergency landing at Joshimath due to a technical snag, police said.
Renuka Rawat was returning to Dehradun along with Upadhyay and party MLA from Badrinath, Rajendra Bhandari after offering prayers at the Badrinath shrine when the chopper developed technical snag and had to make an emergency landing, Joshimath SHO H S Bisht said.
They were later sent to Dehradun in another chopper, he said, he said.
Harish Rawat returned from the shrine in a separate helicopter.
Earlier, the Chief Minister along with his wife and the party leaders, visited the shrine of Badrinath and gave instructions to officials to streamline arrangements for the yatra to Sikh shrine Hemkund Sahib which commences on May 25.
After offering prayers at Badrinath, he interacted with devotees and took feedback about yatra preparations and instructed officials to address their problems.
