Uttarakhand sting case: Rawat not to appear before CBI

Former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat, who was summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation for questioning in sting matter today, will not appear before the investigating agency.

"Harishji hs to abide by the Supreme Court's order and has to prove majority tomorrow in the floor test. There was no scope for him to go to Delhi," Congress leader Indira Hridayesh said.

Earlier, it was said that Rawat may appear before the investigating agency today in in connection with the preliminary enquiry into the controversial sting CD in which he was purportedly seen talking to middlemen in a bid to strike a deal with dissident Congress MLAs.
