Centre to challenge HC order on Uttarakhand floor test; Congress opposes voting rights to rebels

Shortly after a single-judge bench of the Uttarakhand high court ordered a floor test in the assembly on March 31, both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress have prepared to challenged different parts of the decision.

While the Congress will challenge voting rights given to the rebel MLAs, who have already been suspended by the speaker, the Centre will challenge the decision of conducting a floor test altogether.

Both the parties will challenge the decision before a two-judge bench of the high court.
