Pakistan navigates Saudi, Iranian overtures

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani may undertake a 2-day visit to Pakistan in the weekend (FARS). The timing may attract attention, since Prime Minister Narendra Modi is due to visit Saudi Arabia only a week later and is yet to visit Iran. Iran has attached the highest importance to India traditionally as its key partner in South Asia, but Rouhani is choosing Islamabad for his first visit to the region. On the other hand, it is futile to rush into conclusions until the outcome of Rouhani's visit gets known in a week's time. Read MK Bhadrakumar's blog here.
