JNU backlash: Bassi won't be next Information Commissioner

Delhi police commissioner BS Bassi's name dropped from shortlist of candidates for Information Commissioner. The selection panel is slated to choose the information commissioner today. Bassi's abysmal handling of the JNU row is the probable reason behind this. Bassi is set to retire at the end of the month. Reports had suggested that he was the frontrunner for the Information Commissioner's post.
