Delhi Assembly recommends expulsion of BJP MLA who beat up activist

Just in: The AAP-ruled Delhi secretariat recommends the expulsion of BJP MLA OP Sharma. The Ethics Committee of the Delhi Vidhan Sabha has made the recommendation saying Sharma is a habitual offender.

Sharma, who has been accused of assaulting a man outside Patiala House court complex on Tuesday, was on Thursday questioned for eight hours by the Delhi Police., but was released immediately on bail.

"He was arrested under charges of causing hurt and later granted bail," said a senior police official.

After coming out of the police station, Sharma told reporters, "If someone has to pay such a price for stopping a person who raised pro-Pakistan slogans, then I have got nothing to say."

Sharma was caught on camera beating a CPI activist at Patiala House.
