Shoot-at-sight orders for trespassers have been issued at at least 20
frontline Indian Air Force bases in the western sector after the
Pathankot attack in January, a senior government official said.
The process of scaling up the security at 54 key airbases would cost around Rs 8,000 crore, the official said. The IAFs perimeter protection plan includes installing smart fences,
vibration-detection systems, mini drones and thermal cameras at the
bases.
