An IAS officer in Chhattisgarh has been issued a notice for wearing dark glasses while meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh, on May 9. The state's BJP government said that the district magistrate of Bastar, Amit Kataria, violated IAS rules.

CM Raman Singh said the notice had been given to make him aware of the protocol of receiving the PM.

The notice to the Bastar DM says, "You wore sunglasses when you received PM. It is unbecoming of an officer. You did not wear customary dress, instead had sunglasses. Violates All India Service (Conduct) rules. You are warned never to do anything that is not in accordance with the dignity of All India Services.
