Four bills passed in two days, disruptions for 23 days

The concluding day of the Parliament's winter session saw a certain amount of bonhomie among MPs across parties, missing during the combative and aggressive session.  At the Central Hall, Congress MPs came up to BJP MPs and greeted them, but few of the BJP MPs also heckled the opposition for disruptions.

For the entire session, the Congress ensured that parliament proceedings were disrupted, but on the last day, they were cordial, even enthusiastic in getting pending bills passed -- four bills were passed in 23 minutes! In fact that is precisely what the heckling was about.

Hamid Ansari, the Rajya Sabha chairperson, slammed the opposition saying disruptions resulted in a delay of governance. Whether the grand old party realises it and acts on it will be seen during the Budget session in March. Watch this space.
