Former finance minister P Chidambaram is likely to enter the Rajya Sabha from Puducherry. It is Chidambaram's last chance to try his Parliamentary luck. Chidambaram will not be fielded to the Rajya Sabha from Himachal Pradesh or from Karnataka.  Interestingly, the All India N R Congress  (AINRC), a breakaway group of the Congress led by N Rangaswamy of Puducherry is wooing the AICC to forge an alliance before March 2016 polls. Presently, the NR Congress is part of the BJP. It may recalled that Narendra Modi during the poll campaign addressed Chidambaram as a Recount Minister, a reference to the Sivaganga polls.
