The launch of IRNSS 1C,the third of seven satellites in the series to put in place India's navigation system on par with US' Global Positioning System, has been postponed following a technical snag and the launch date would be announced later, the space agency said today.

"The launch of IRNSS 1C on board PSLV C 26 has been postponed due to some technical reasons. The new date of launch would be announced later," ISRO spokesman Deviprasad Karnik told PTI.

Asked about the reasons for the postponement, a senior ISRO official said, "The rehearsal of the launch was done last night. We have observed a small anomaly. A particular item was not functioning properly."
