If Advani is Bhishma, who are Duryodhan and Shakuni, asks Digvijaya

Latching on to the Mahabharta analogy used by L K Advani, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh today took potshots at BJP over the turmoil in the party after Narendra Modi's elevation and subsequent resignation of senior leader Advani from key posts.

"If Advani is Bhishma Pitamah, who would be Dhritrashtra, Shakuni, Duryodhan and other characters of BJP Mahabharata," Singh wrote on Twitter. In another tweet, he said, "...BJP certainly has its own "chaal" it's own "charitra" and it's own "chehra". Now guess who is what."

In his blog, Advani had on Sunday made a reference to a wounded Bhishma Pitamah lying on a bed of arrows in a scene in Mahabharata. The reference was made by the sulking BJP veteran, who, citing ill-health, had stayed away from the party executive meet that elevated Modi the same day, anointing him as Chief of BJP's Election Campaign Committee for 2014 general elections.

Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed also took a jibe at Opposition party
leaders for speaking about Advani's virtues after he resigned from key party posts yesterday.

"BJP leaders say Advani is a father figure for us, but in place of son, they are trying to send the hapless father to Banwas. What a shame?" he tweeted.
