Nothing wrong with Prasad: Lillee

Venkatesh Prasad is fully fit and there is nothing wrong with his bowling.

The clean bill of health for the medium pacer whose exclusion from the Indian team has mystified most fans of the game comes from Dennis Lillee, no less. Prasad trained with the Australian pace legend at the MRF Pace Foundation.

Prasad has been recalled for the second match of the Pepsi triangular series against Zimbabwe at Baroda on Sunday. He is "bowling as well as before," Lillee said.

"His bowling is exactly as it was," Lillee declared emphatically, adding that Prasad had spent a day with him at the MRF Pace Foundation on Wednesday after his recall.

Concurring with the great Australian, T A Sekhar, chief coach at the MRF Pace Foundation, said Prasad's throwing had also improved considerably. "Maybe, he is a bit low on confidence," both Lillee and Sekhar added.

Both Javagal Srinath and Prasad, the MRF honchos said, should be allowed to bowl for the Indian team again. "As long as they were bowling together India looked like a top side in the world," they pointed out.
