India's latest offer of talks has been taken up by Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.

Sources privy to the meeting said Zardari and Kayani first held a one-on-one meeting, and joined by Gilani later.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi also joined them at a dinner hosted by the president.

Presidential spokesperson Farhatullah Babar refused to divulge much details, and only said, "We have issued a press release and it is enough."

Babar said the recently concluded London conference on Afghanistan, the rehabilitation and reconstruction work in South Waziristan and the current volatile situation in Karachi were also discussed.

Issues pertaining to Dr Aafia Siddiqui's trial by a US court and its verdict against her also figured during the meeting, he added.

Zardari has directed the government to immediately establish contact with Siddiqui's family and provide her with all possible legal assistance in America, The News reported.
