An army jawan was killed in firing from across the border along the Line of Control [ Images ] in Poonch district on Tuesday.

Suspected militants opened fire from across the border at Tata Post at around 2 am following which troops retaliated, official sources said.

In the brief exchange of fire, a jawan identified as Jang Bahadur of the 2nd Gorkha Rifles was critically injured and later died in hospital.
