Maoists blow up two schools in Jharkhand

The Maoists blew up two middle schools in Jharkhand's Giridih district, the police said on Tuesday. The ultras packed explosives inside the Upgraded Haridih School and Upgraded Dharpahari School after midnight on Monday night, damaging the structures.

The schools are named after respective villages situated under Bheluaghat police outpost.There is no no loss of life in the incident, said the police, who have set out on foot to reach the difficult terrain to avoid landmines. The Maoists usually trigger blasts in schools which the security forces use as shelters during their anti-naxal operations.
