A self-styled battalion commander of Hizbul Mujahideen [ Images ] outfit was on Friday killed in an operation jointly carried out by Army and police at Goos on the border of Pulwama-Budgam district.

The slain militant was identified as Abu Maya, a Pakistani national, Army said, adding that he was the battalion commander and an IED expert.
