JK: Militants attack a NC worker

Militants on Saturday evening shot at and wounded a prominent a block president and worker of the ruling National Conference at Hardeshiva village near north Kashmir [ Images ] town of Sopore.

The police said 50-year-old Ghulam Mohammad Dar was shifted to a bone-and-joint hospital in capital Srinagar [ Images ] for treatment.

They said militants fired from a close range at Dar near his house in Hardeshiva village nearly 60 km from Srinagar and escaped.

The police rushed to the spot and shifted the NC worker to the hospital.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. This is the second attack on an NC worker in two months.
