Three people, including a child, were killed and seven others injured on Sunday in a blast that occurred due to burning of scrap in Rajasthan's Kota city, the police said.
"The incident occured this morning when a nomad identified as Manna and his son were trying to melt some scrap material in a vacant land," Additional Superintendent of Kota city Laxman Gaur said.
"The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where Munna, his eight-year-old son Kamal and another person Girraj were declared brought dead," he said, adding the condition of the injured was stated to be out of danger.
"They are nomads locally called as Gadia Luhar (a community that travels from place to place for pasture), and were residing in the area," the officer said.
A case has been registered and investigation is on to find out the exact cause of the blast, the ASP said.
