Centre puts five states on terror alert

November 11, 2009 22:10 IST

The Centre has warned five states, including Uttarakhand [ Images ] and Maharashtra [ Images ], against terrorist attacks, particularly targeting
military training academies.

The alert has been issued based on Federal Bureau of Investigation's inputs after interrogating David Headley, the terror suspect who allegedly toured five Indian cities.

Intelligence Bureau sources said it was highly possible that Headley had established sleeper cells in these states. The states have been asked to coordinate with the Army and Indian Military Academy in Dehradun and Khadakwasla.
