Encounter on between Orissa cops and Maoists

A fierce encounter is on between the Special Operation Group of the Orissa police and the Maoists in a dense forest in the state's Rayagada district since Sunday evening, the police said.

The exchange of fire, which broke out in the forest of Ramnaguda area, about 85 km from Rayagada in Orissa, has been continuing till Monday evening, they said.

While some Ultras were suspected to have been injured, no security force jawan was hurt.

The encounter erupted after the Ultras were spotted during a combing operation, the police said.
