IT India '97/Comdex to kick off on December 3

IT India '97/Comdex, expected to be the most significant information technology event of the year, will kick off on December 3 at the Pragati Maidan. It will be the largest information technology fair of the year and will bring together the IT industry under one roof.

Besides the exhibition, the event will have a series of conference sessions which will run concurrently with the megashow from December 3-6.

This year the theme of the conference is 'Towards India intelligent network'.

The two-and-a-half day conference, which will start at Vigyan Bhavan, will have three-track concurrent sessions at the Taj Convention Centre. In all, there will be more than 30 conference sessions.

The Conference sessions this year will comprise technology oriented programmes to be held in conjunction with three specifically targeted programmes that will provide directions on the emerging trends and a commentary on investment opportunities.

It will also have a megashow 'Technology Program' for the businessman. This will run every morning and afternoon on December 4 and 5. In addition to the Technology Program there are three special programmes designed for the technocrat.

According to Manufacturers' Association for Information Technology President Manu Parpia "The conference programme at IT India '97/Comdex targets business professionals."

National Association of Software and Service Companies President K V Ramani said "IT India '97/Comdex will showcase innovative products from over 500 industries. It will provide customers access to the world's most vibrant IT growth markets."

IT India '97/Comdex is an annual event which is being organised by MAIT, NASSCOM, Softbank Comdex Inc, and Business India Exhibitions.

The event offers opportunities for interaction among the business community in Asia. The stress will be on showcasing new products and technologies.
