Communications fair
Over 200 hardware and software professionals from 22 countries are to take part in Broadcast, Cable and Satellite India 97, the largest international exhibition of state-of-the-art technology opening in New Delhi tomorrow.
The exhibition at the Pragati Maidan coincides with Communications India 97, a major show of telecommunications and the Internet, aimed at demonstrating the merging of the two technologies. The shows have been organised from December 9 to 11 by Exhibitions India in collaboration with the Trade Fair Authority of India.
US Secretary of State for Commerce William M Daley, who is now visiting India, will inaugurate the American pavilions at the two exhibitions.
Pramanik is Sun's managing director in India
Sun Microsystems has announced the appointment of Bhaskar Pramanik as the managing director of the Indian operations. In his new role, Pramanik is responsible for the overall operations of the representative office in Bangalore including sales, marketing and partner development for India. Pramanik comes to Sun with an illustrious career spanning 25 years during which his responsibilities have included general management, sales and marketing for local and multinational companies, a company release said.
