IBM India and Apex Systems launch insurance solutions

An agreement to market and implement the solutions was formally signed in New Delhi by Sudev Muthya, general manager, banking, finance, securities and insurance, IBM India, and Suresh Prabhu, chairman and CEO, Apex Systems.

Under this agreement, IBM will offer insurance companies insurance solutions from Apex.

Sudev Muthya said ''Insurance is an exiting industry and India is now opening up to a number of new insurance companies. IBM's leadership in the insurance sector worldwide along with leading products from Apex will deliver the value insurance companies seek from IT partnerships.

The specialised software application solutions developed by Apex for the insurance sector are Elife, X-Re and X-Group.

The solutions offered are for property and casualty insurance, individual life insurance, health insurance (medical indemnity and managed care) and reinsurance.

These solutions are off-the-shelf and enterprise-wide packages that can be used online.

They will bring in large-scale automation and will enable cross-selling and enhance productivity.
