Abacus Vice-President Khalid Jamal explains that the Y2K communications team at Abacus will work with clients in overcoming the communications of the Y2K issue.

The Y2K communications programme will have the twin purpose of creating awareness about the implications for better compliance on the one hand and on the other, it would help clients in keeping their reputation intact under the challenge of the Y2K impact.

The millennium bug has evolved from being just an IT issue to a real business challenge. And therefore, it will impact all aspects of corporate reputation. A well thought-out communications strategy and programme to communicate the Y2K problem, its implication, action plan to address the issue and corporate position on the issue will help companies to reduce the risk of misperception, Jamal claimed.
