This office is the first in Clarkston-Potomac's global expansion strategy.

The company provides full service information technology planning project management and implementation services. It plans to target the entire spectrum of companies in diverse segments in the country.

Plans are afoot to open offices in other cities as well at a later date.

Speaking on the occasion, Finegan said it has become imperative for business practices to adopt mission-critical enterprise-wide systems.

Clarkston-Potomac has customised its practices towards the middle-market segment, an area where there is tremendous potential. "We intend to re-apply the same lessons learned from our US experiences to achieve similar successes in India," he said.

Mark Clenestro, managing director for Clarkston-Potomac's Asia-Pacific operation, is extremely positive about India. "It is clear that Indian business leaders are seeing the benefits driven by new enterprise implementations in the international marketplace, SAP India has had a 100 per cent growth in 1998 and is well on its way to achieving this again in 1999," he points out.
