HCL and Microsoft plan Y2K seminars

Email this story to a friend. HCL Infosystems Limited has joined hands with Microsoft Corporation to host a series of seminars on the Y2K bug.

To be conducted over three months, these seminars are a part of HCL Insys' latest initiative for Y2K related solutions and services, termed 'save our systems'.

Targeted at the small and medium enterprises, these seminars will assist companies in evaluating their state of preparedness for Y2K compliance and spread awareness about the technical requirements and solutions available to address the millennium bug.

The first series will be held in the southern region in the cities of Kochi, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Madras and Hyderabad beginning April 12 through April 19, 1999.

The second series will be held in Calcutta, Bombay, Pune Ahmedabad, Delhi and Chandigarh. The first seminar was held in Kochi on April 12.

The seminars will include several interactive discussions on the impact of Y2K on an organisation, planning for better management and solution and tools available to rectify the problem.

To complement these interactive sessions, HCL and Microsoft will display a host of Y2K readiness tools and will recommend and implement appropriate and targeted remedial solutions besides providing Y2K compliance certification of hardware, data and applications.

R Rangarajan, chief support officer, Frontline Division, HCL Insys, said, ''With the turn the millennium only a few months away, corporations are beginning to feel the pressure and the necessity of Y2K compliance.

Timely assistance is the need of the hour. By increasing awareness through these seminars and offering customers with solutions and support services to effectively combat this problem, we hope to help Indian corporations achieve Y2K compliance.''
