The state taskforce would cater for all the needs of software and IT companies, he said, adding that the government would introduce the single-window clearance system demanded by the industrialists, within a week.

Besides this, the government would also open a Web site and come out with a CD-ROM on Madras's potential as an IT hub and exhibit to the world, the facilities available for software industries in the metro and the state, he added.

Earlier, addressing industrialists, Karunanidhi said the state government has an objective of achieving not only 100 per cent literacy in the state, but also computer literacy within the next 10 years. He said the state has decided to make information technology a part of the school and college curriculum from the next academic year.
