The initiative is expected to give Fortune 1000 manufacturers the ability to implement ERP solutions in time for 2000 and with full support for the introduction of the single European currency, euro.

To ensure best-of-breed enterprise-wide solutions, according to the companies, the initiative makes use of a new set of application programming interfaces that enable MFG/PRO to interoperate with other financial ERP packages from companies such as SAP and Oracle.

"We believe that it is vital that manufacturers have reliable options for implementing supply-chain enabled ERP solutions that deliver 2000 compliance and euro readiness to plant level operations," said Arjun Erry, country sales manager, QAD India.
