Dubai by the middle of the year to cater to the West Asian market.

The group already has signed up with Atraxis AG, the information technology company of Swissair, to provide software development services, a contract worth over Rs one billion over the next 10 years, Mathews said.

IBS, the only software company in India specialising in air transportation, aiming specifically at the Europe and the North American markets, will be expanding its business in Europe in partnership with the Rs 7.6 billion Atraxis, to get a share of the $ 10 billion. air transportation software pie.

Software from the IBS group finds wide application in the airline, airport, cargo logistics and travel agency and transportation business.

Within India, IBS plans to bring in high quality information technology development work through partnerships and alliances. It is also planning diversification into the financial, pharmaceuticals and oiI sectors.

The company's "extended software development services" assures clients that the staff working on one project will not work for any other company during a contract. This has given the company leverage in wresting contracts as in the case of the Emirates group.

Midway through the first year of operations, the company has been able to clock a turnover of Rs 80 million in software exports. IBS currently focuses on SAP for supporting aircraft maintenance and engineering functions, electronic commerce and ObjectStar development centre for supporting cargo business and passenger services systems.
