An ancient city, whose history can be traced back to the times of the Ramayana, Nashik is famous for its pilgrimage tours. The site contains information on such landmarks.

It describes 'Sinhastha Kumbhamela', a massive religious fair held once in a 12 years. Trimbakeshwar, on the South Indian plateau is sacred to the Hindus and it is from there that the river Godavari originates. Various religious rituals and funerals performed on the banks of holy Godavari are explained on the site along with photographs of 100 ancient temples in.

Besides the focus on tourism and religion, the site has information on horticulture, the sugar industry, Nashik's rapid industrialisation and the scope for expansion.

It also has pointers to the availability of education, medical services, hotels and attractive tourist destinations besides a listing of bus and railway services along with their timetables.

Cybertech, the designers of the site, have promised to update it regularly.

'Nashik on the Net' was inaugurated by Kusumagraj's 'Premyog' and an autographed message by the poet.
