Of the total revenue, 62 per cent came from its IT software and services businesses and 38 per cent from hardware. Software export revenues have grown to Rs 9.89 billion, a growth of 82 per cent over the previous year.

With this, HCL has trebled its revenues from the export market in over two years.

HCL's performance is underlined by its strategic business reorientation undertaken over the last three years.

Illustrating this key growth factor is the transformation in HCL's business mix. Revenues from hardware and services have witnessed a dramatic ratio-reversal. From 60 per cent hardware-related and 40 per cent software and services-related revenue, HCL's revenue mix, today, is 38 per cent from hardware and 62 per cent from services, including software.

Within this new business model, HCL has leveraged its strengths in hardware by using it as a tool for market expansion and a critical carrier for the value-added solutions.

Synergies between HCL's hardware and services business have been effectively integrated towards the creation of technology-based solutions to comprehensively address market needs.
