Email this story to a friend. Aptech Limited, in alliance with Open Learning Agency of Vancouver, Canada, has launched its 'International Credential Evaluation Service' in India.

OLA is an agency under the Canadian government, of which the Open University of Canada at British Columbia is a part.

their academic qualifications and work experience evaluated against comparable credentials in North America,'' said Richard W Scales, vice-president, business development and student services, OLA.

Announcing this as part of the visiting British Columbia business delegation's efforts, Scales has said India is the third largest source of immigration to Canada.

"With this evaluation, prospective immigrants to Canada will find it easier to have their educational qualifications evaluated,'' he added.

"This would enable students to get their Indian qualifications validated even for admission to B Tech and BBA programmes offered in India,'' he added.

Apart from Madras, Aptech has such evaluation programmes in Bombay and Delhi. These evaluations also assume significance in the light of the fact that Aptech and similar institutes are bringing in joint programmes with foreign universities.

Aptech has been offering a B Tech from Open University, British Columbia, along with its diploma since 1995 and will be offering a BBA course from June.

To enter consulting, services Aptech plans to diversify into corporate consulting and software services to enhance its presence in information technology training in Asia.

The company has restructured its activities into seven strategic business units, three of which are Aptech Computer Education, Asset International and Arena Multimedia. The four other units will target the corporate customers in India and overseas, each with a specific area of focus, according to a press release issued by the company.

A development centre is being commissioned in Bombay in March and marketing offices are being set up in Singapore, Dubai and Ireland to offer the new services on a global basis.
