Rs 4.8b 100-story software facility mooted in Bangalore

Email this story to a friend. The Karnataka government has given consent to a Rs 4.8-billion software technology park project. And it is to be housed in the tallest office building in India called Space City.

The 360-metre tall 100-storey building would provide 1.6 million square feet of office space on a 60-acre plot on the Hosur Road in Bangalore.

Inder R Jaggi, the chief promoter of the project, has said that the complex would provide working space for 20,000 software professionals. Civil construction is expected to commence in June and will be completed in three years.

The project is being developed through the debt-financing route. Jaggi said the financing scheme has not been finalised, adding that foreign financial institutions have shown keen interest in investing the project.

A few New York-based architects and a British consultant have been shortlisted to work on the project.

The state government has given the fast-track status to the project with Karnataka Udyog Mitra assisting the promoters.

State government sources say five sites on the Hosur Road have been proposed.
